But… They’re Brothers!
A DabiShou Prompt Fest
What is a prompt fest?
Similar to a fic fest, this is where participants submit prompt ideas for the event and then there is a claiming period where participants claims prompts they’d like to work with.
Why not just call it a fic fest?
This fest is not just for fic writers! We welcome art, cosplay, and other media forms.
Sign-up Phase
1. Participants will fill out a google form and submit their prompts. If you can’t think of any, don’t worry! You can still sign up. You can submit up to five.2. Be as vague or as specific as you want, but all prompts must feature DabiShou.3. Only submit prompts you’re ok donating to public use. Remember that this is different from an exchange, in that once a participant claims your prompt, they can do whatever they want and won’t necessarily be tailoring it to your taste.
Claiming Period
1. There will be a claiming period during which you claim the prompt you want. You will have had time to look over the prompts before claims open. Try to find more than one you’d be happy with in case someone else gets the one you’re looking at.2. When you claim a prompt, you will have the opportunity to say whether you want to work alone or would like to collab. If you already have a collab partner before claiming, that’s ok too!3. Initial prompts are claimed by a google form and will not be first come, first serve—everyone will get a fair chance.4. There will be plenty of prompts available, so if you don’t get your first choice, don’t worry!
Creation Phase
Here’s the fun part! Now you will create something based off the prompt you’ve chosen.1. There is no minimum and no limit; also there are no content restrictions- once you claim a prompt you can do whatever you want with it.2. You may do multiple prompts, but the catch is that you can only do one at a time. As soon as you finish a prompt you’ll have the option to claim another.
Posting
Participants will post what they’ve created for the event. There will be a whole week to post your work and share it during DabiShou Birthday Week, and we’ll promote it on Twitter. There will also be an AO3 collection. If there is enough interest, we will do a Round 2!

F.A.Q.
Q: What are the minimum requirements for creation?A: There are none! You can do as much or as little as you like.Q: Can I claim more than one prompt?A: Yes! You can claim as many as you want—except there is one catch. You must do one at a time. Once you are finished with your first prompt, you’ll be able to claim another.Q: Are prompts first come, first serve?A: Everyone’s first prompt is not first come first serve, because we wanted to be fair to people in different time zones. However, any subsequent prompts you claim will be first come, first serve because you’ll be claiming them as you finish what you were working on.Q: What if I have more then five prompt ideas to submit?A: For right now, we are limiting to five for each person, but depending on interest we may open up additional prompt submissions later on.Q: Can I claim my own prompt for the event?A: Yes, you can! Although we encourage you to give other prompts a try, because this event is all about community.Q: Is this like a bang, where we get paired up?A: It is similar to a bang in that you will be looking at prompts and claiming them. However, mods will not automatically be pairing you up. You can work solo, or you can arrange your own collab. Participants will be able to indicate whether or not they are open to collab.
